For our tenth anniversary, my husband surprised me with a trip to New York City. I had never been to NYC before, so I couldn’t wait to explore all the sites. My favorite locale, by far, was Central Park.
Jeff and I spent the entire day walking all over the park. I loved the tall canopy of trees and the wavy fields of grass, but I was most drawn to the bridges. With a map in my hands, I made sure to visit each bridge in Central Park.
I love bridges.
Because bridges are intentional. They’re built with human hands. And they’re built to connect.
Bridges connect with intention, which is why I chose to have pictures of bridges on the homepage of my website. I created this online space to connect with others and share the Grace and Truth that has transformed my life.
This space here . . . it isn’t a blog . . . it’s a bridge.
A bridge between hearts — both yours and mine.
A bridge between words — both dreams and stories.
A bridge between time — both past and present.
This online bridge has forged real relationships across countries and continents. And earlier this month, I had the privilege of building another bridge with a dear sister in Christ whose ministry is to encourage moms. Christy Largent hosts a podcast where she interviews moms to encourage the hearts of mothers everywhere.
Christy Largent and I shared a long conversation about writing and motherhood, ministry and community. I was able to share about the seedlings of a dream that grew into Deeper Waters Ministry and the retreat we’re planning — a retreat that is the ultimate bridge to bring women together for one purpose: to grow deeper in our relationship with the Lord and to connect with kindred souls.
Conversations are bridges that connect our hearts. And I’d love for you to wander over this bridge here.
